August 15th marks the deadline for Bob Beauprez to announce his pick for running mate.
The Denver Post today had a quick rundown, with John Marshall (BB spokesman) saying that Beauprez’s running mate “will be a good compliment to our ticket” but that “people will be more focused on Bob Beauprez and why he’s going to make a good governor.”
ToTheRight also has a rundown, at

Will the pick balance the ticket? Help fire up the base? Bring in more money? Campaign hard? Attract unaffiliated voters? Minorities? Be a good soldier for the top of the ticket? We’ll know more in the next eight days.
(Republicans will remember the pick of Norton, and how that announcement — veiled in secrecy — was finally leaked three days beforehand when Norton’s aide admitted that Jane had a hair appointment the day before the scheduled announcement at Hudson Gardens.)
